Primary Care Initiative

Mission Statement

The Primary Care Initiative, introduces all Keck School of Medicine of USC students to primary care and nurtures, supports, educates and develops those students whose career goal is to become a primary care physician. We will do this by providing primary care clinical, research, leadership, policy and educational opportunities in a variety of settings.

Welcome to the Keck School of Medicine of USC Primary Care, Family Medicine, and Community Medicine student website. This site includes multiple links that will assist you in exploring a career in primary care. Furthermore, it will connect you to valuable resources, opportunities, and experiences in research, community resources, scholarships, fellowships and loan options, family medicine professional organizations, and summer and volunteer opportunities for first through fourth year medical students interested in family medicine and other primary care specialties.

The Center for Community Health Studies

The Center for Community Health Studies consists of a multi-disciplinary research team whose mission is to develop and disseminate information that contributes to improving the health of communities and reducing disparities in health care coverage and services. By using community-based research, we aim to understand the impact of health care programs, organizations, and policies on the health of individuals and communities. We provide program evaluations, policy analysis, health service research, and training for future researchers.
