California Academy of Family Physicians
Since 1948, CAFP has championed the cause of family physicians and their patients. With more than 7,000 members, including practicing family physicians, residents, and medical students, CAFP is the largest primary care medical society in California, and the largest chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Membership with CAFP and AAFP is invaluable for physicians – it not only gives you access to services and tools that will assist your personal and professional development, it also contributes to the overall strength of family medicine as a specialty. Both CAFP and AAFP can provide the resources you need from general information about a family medicine career and opportunities to work with a family physician mentor, to information about the residency match process. If you are a medical student attending school in California, becoming a member of the AAFP gives you automatic membership in CAFP, and vice versa. Membership in CAFP is free to students!
